Finance Friday: The Golden Years Have Become Rusty Years

“I expected to be in a better place. The golden years have become rusty years.” That was a sobering quote from a retiree in Boston, sharing his real-life experience in a video interview and looking back at some early-life decisions he now wishes he would have made differently. The two video interviews by Boston College’s Center for Retirement Research (CRR) focus primarily on financial matters (wealth), but as you watch think about the other two key areas of retirement readiness: health and happiness (how you spend your time in retirement). If you’re in your 50s or beyond, give some serious thought to your retirement plans now. Don’t let your golden years become rusty.
